ABOUT OUR TEACHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION • 100 teachers: science and/or agriculture • Two different teaching programs: • One-yearundergraduateteachereducation program for candidateswith a vocational or academiceducationalbackground • Five-year program thatincludesbothteachereducation and contentknowledge in a masters degree TEACHER EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

ABOUT CULTURAL HISTORICAL ACTIVITY THEORY • Combines different levelsofanalysis in studies ofhow institutional practiceschange • Designed to enhanceunderstandingof human activitysituated in a collectivecontext • Object-driven activity • Activity system as the unit ofanalysis • History is important TEACHER EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

USING CHAT IN MY PROJECT UMBs Vision: The Norwegian University of Life Sciences will be an internationally renowned and innovative university for life sciences, ecology and sustainable development TOOLS TEACHER EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY University, colleagues, students, student-mentors OUTCOME Dependent on thefactors in the CHAT triangle RULES International agreements, national regulations, localregulations, informalrules DIVISION OF LABOR Democraticprocesses, peoplestrengths, time pressure, etc. OBJECT Educate teachers thatcancontribute to SD SUBJECT Group ofteachereducatorsworkingtogether in theteachereducation program TOOLS Plans for the TE program, assignments, exams, reading lists, theoreticalknowledge, etc. OUTCOME SUBJECT OBJECT DIVISION OF LABOR RULES COMMUNITY
