What do you do if you are the victim? • Tell your friend, parents or your teacher. • Don’t respond to but simply ignore bullies • keep the messages and show them to your parents or your teacher • Discuss with someone any online incident that makes feel uncomfortable • Block the person who is bullying you. • Delete or change the Account you are being bullied on

Simple steps go a long way in protecting you ! • Never give personal information: your age, address, mobile number to strangers • Never give passwords away or leave accounts automatically logged in • Never accept online friendship requests from people you never met • Never open messages from strangers, no matter how tempting it is • Some issues are private, if you don’t want the world to know then don’t post it online! • Remember anything you post on the internet, can easily be accessed by others • If you sign up to play online games, always make sure you can log out • Never arrange to meet anyone you’ve met online in person.

Protecting others: How can you make a difference? • Treat others with respect as you would expect them to do the same to you. • If you witness cyber bullying, don’t be a bystander • Don’t laugh or join in – cyber bullying isn’t cool • Don’t be entertained by someone who bullying others • Refuse to pass along cyber bulling messages • Don’t send messages when you are angry or upset • Don’t post someone else’s personal information
