Human Services Assistant Certificate • Do you like to work with people? • Would you enjoy a job in a “helping” profession? • Can you picture yourself assisting in a substance abuse, correctional, child development, or nursing home setting? • If your answer is YES to any of these questions, you may enjoy our Human Services Assistant Certificate program.

  2. Human Services Assistant Certificate Are you willing to take an entry-level position? Can you maintain client confidentiality? Although not always a hindrance, in many cases, an active criminal background check and/or past substance abuse will restrict you from this career path.

Human Services Assistant Certificate • Typical jobs obtained after earning the Human Services Assistant Certificate include: • SNAP (formerly food stamp) program worker • Detention or correctional officer • Activities aide in nursing home • In-home care for mentally or physically disabled individuals • Residential care for mentally or physically disabled individuals • Social worker assistant (office skills a plus) • Teacher’s assistant or aide in child development center or schools

Concentrations include gerontology, substance abuse, early childhood education or criminal justice.
