  18. Course Monitoring • Was the facility accessible to persons with a disability? • Was there adequate floor and/or table space to practice CPR? • Did the Student-Instructor ratio meet AHA guidelines?

  19. Course Monitoring • Were students given the opportunity to evaluate the course? • Was the MTN post course evaluation form used? • Did the form give the student the opportunity to evaluate the instructor? • Were directions given for sending form directly to MTN if desired?

  24. Course Monitoring • Were the AHA skills performance checklists used for skill evaluation? • Did the instructors avoid prompting students during skills testing? • Did all instructors evaluate the students according to the critical skills descriptions identified, remediated, and reevaluated?

  25. Course Monitoring • Was sufficient skill evaluation and written exam remediation provided to students who needed it? • Were only the most recent and unaltered AHA written exams used? • Was the written exam held in an area free of distraction?

  28. Course Monitoring • Were instructors familiar with equipment and able to perform any necessary troubleshooting? • Were all students given the opportunity to use the AED? • Were all students given the opportunity to use the defibrillator?

  29. Course Monitoring • Were team roles consistently assigned by the team leaders? (ACLS/PALS) • Were all students engaged in each scenario? (ACLS/PALS) • Did each student serve as team leader as required? (ACLS/PALS)

  30. Course Monitoring • Was debriefing performed as indicated in the Lesson Maps and consistently throughout the course? (ACLS/PALS) • Were students provided a course agenda at the start of the course? (ACLS/PALS) • Did each student complete the pre-course assessments? (ACLS/PALS)

Course Monitoring • Reviewer’s Overall Score • Successful monitoring with recommendations (all “yes” scores) • Successful monitoring with required improvements (scored mostly YES with some “yes-with requirements”; no more than one “no” score) • Unsuccessful monitoring, required improvements noted (2 or more “no” scores)
