Homes and businesses in Cork city were flooded again last night after the River Lee overflowed its banks! Around 6,000 households are without power, mainly in the southwest of the country. The ESB has said its crews worked overnight to restore power to around 10,000 homes and businesses. At one point last night, almost 20,000 people were without electricity. Today's WeatherFurther heavy showers today with some thundery downpours and local flooding. Some sunny spells developing also. Highest temperatures 6 to 9 degrees. Windy at times with strong to gale force easterly winds this morning over Leinster, Ulster and Connacht and also strong to gale force westerly winds later this morning and this afternoon over Munster There is also a lot of debris and fallen trees on the roads. Meanwhile, Met Éireann is forecasting further gales for much of Ireland, with strong to gale force easterly winds this morning over Leinster, Ulster and Connacht and gusts of up to 90km/h By: Luke Treacher
