  2. Outages • 1/18 @12:00am • CAH login (2 of 3 servers) • Affected Gophermail service • Most CAH applications retried a different server and were therefore not affected • Resolved by 12:25am

  3. E-mail Server Upgrades • IMAP/POP mail store servers switching from UFS to ZFS filesystem • Ability to utilize snapshots • Allows for filesystem-level compression • Positions us to utilize ZFS mirroring • No user quotas • SAN storage reconfiguration

  4. Beta services • Still collecting feedback for: • Mail filtering • Mailbox sharing • UMN Mail Tools Thunderbird plugin (attached to message to EMAIL-L from Jeff Williams on 12/18/2008; see archives on lists.umn.edu until we find a more permanent web home for it)

  5. Bits ‘n’ Bytes • CICme – CIC collaboration tool switching to Shibboleth auth 2/17

  6. UMMail • Google agreement signed Dec 2008 • Opt-in available starting Fall 2009 • Emphasis currently focused on incoming freshman students • Direct questions to gpilot@umn.edu

  7. Future EMAIL-L Meetings • Merging with Net-People meetings • Time and cost savings • Increased participation anticipated • Will continue to utilize EMAIL-L mailing list for announcements and discussions • Presentation available prior to meeting • Open to ideas on format and timing
