Canada has nearly 15% of child poverty. In B.C, there has been a few strikes against child poverty. Also Toronto Star had one article about child poverty. It is called “United Nations of Children Fund”

  3. Which Level of Government Works With Child Poverty? The Federal Government and the Provincial Government came up with a great solution for child poverty. There is a Fund that is called National Child Benefit helps prevent and reduce child poverty. The Federal Government contributes by giving Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB). Right now 80% of families receive it. People with low income receive National Child Benefit Supplement (NCBS). Also the Municipal Government helps by food donations and charities. The Government is trying to help families with local charities and donations.

  4. What Does the Government Supply? The Government provides free education, universal medical systems, and minimum wage for adults (19 or older). The Government explain basic needs such as food, water, but also sanitation, education and health care. But unfortunately the Aboriginal’s rate of child poverty is the highest in this group and also it is double the national average.
