  5. Course Format • Academics • Pool • Open Water Experience

  6. Academics • On-Line Textbook • Included in the course • End of chapter questions must be correct to continue to the next unit • DVD • Included with the course • View appropriate units before class.

  7. Pool • Five pool sessions on 3 days • Learn new skills • Practice old skills LOTS • So you will be comfortable on the Florida dives.

  8. Student Provides Mask Fins Snorkel Booties (optional) SSI logbook (required) Winthrop Student Packages Available Provided by Wateree Wet Suit BCD (buoyancy control device) Regulator system Gauges/Instruments Tank Weight belt Weights Safety Equipment Equipment

  9. Open Water • Takes place in Florida (west coast) • Student is responsible for expenses. • Handout is available with the details. • Dive in 3 different bodies of water • Three different eco-systems
