  3. Democrat v Progressive v Republican

  4. Election of 1912 TR fails to take the Republican nomination from Taft and starts the new Progressive Party nicknamed the Bull Moose Party to run for Pres. The Democrats nominate Wilson.

  5. Roosevelt v Wilson How did New Nationalism and New Freedom treat monopolies or trusts? TR’s New Nationalism – Wilson’s New Freedom-

  6. Tariff Reform Wilson passed the Underwood Tariff cutting most import taxes in half. Wilson also passed the 16th Amendment establishing the Income Tax.

  7. Federal Reserve Note!

  8. Wilson on Business Wilson created the Federal Reserve System which controlled interest rates and the money. Wilson also created the Federal Trade Commission to prevent businesses from using unfair trade practices that hurt competition.

  9. Progressive Failures Progressivism failed to address lynching and discrimination. W.E.B. Du Bois helped found the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People)
