  22. PLAYING TIME • Between Player & Coach • Many important roles as a player • Practice players, special teams, subs, starters etc… • The 11 best will play (adult work world philosophy) • Best doesn’t necessarily mean the most talented

  23. 7 CRITERIA IN DETERMING A STARTER(NOT A PERSONALITY CONTEST) • Strength in major lifts / Fitness Level • Quickness and Speed • Size (doesn’t always mean bulk, could be the HEART) • Knowledge of the Game • Toughness and hitting ability • Attitude / Coach-ability • Performance (making the PLAY / Getting It done) ******Head coach has final say, listen to staff, has input / it’s something we do not take lightly

Strength & Conditioning • Must be done all year long: Athletic Strength Training or Strength Training, after-school, and Summer Training • Training Focus: Strength, Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Quickness (more than just lifting a few weights) • Strength & Conditioning is a facilitator to Movement • Mandatory for Safety & Success • Performance Enhancement • 100 % of Top quality Maryland High School Football programs mandate and conduct a highly structured year around TEAM lifting and running program • Any age with proper supervision, technique, and appropriate weight.

  27. Summer 08 Strength & Conditioning • Attendance is a must for safety & success • 4 Days a week (3 at School, 1 at home) • School Training: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 7:30 am to 10 am • Acclimates your body for the demands of football • Vacations are excused

Summer 08 Strength & Conditioning • Our program trains the proper energy system for football through running, lifting, agilities, and stretching. • Not training the proper energy system (6-8 weeks) prior to the start of padded practices has led to cases of injuries, heat illnesses, and other life threatening situations due to the body not being ready for the demands of football.

IMPORTANT DATES / TO DO’S • NFL Camp Meeting May 13th 7:00pm • NFL Camp May 19 – 22 (Waiver Forms) • Class Interviews: During Summer Workouts • Start of Strength & Conditioning: June 17th • Physicals (a must to play by Aug 16) • 7 on 7 Starts May 28th • Make Up Parent / Player Football Meeting for those who missed 4/29: May 27th @ the MHS media center from 7pm to 8pm

IMPORTANT DATES / TO DO’S • Frederick County 7 on 7 League • What: 7on7 Passing Tourney, Play all Frederick County High School Teams • Who: All interested upcoming MHS Football 11th and 12th graders / 16-20 committed players needed to field a team • When: 7 Days, mainly Wednesday & Thursday Pm's in May / June from 6-8pm 10 Games • Wednesday 5-28 Thursday 5-29 Wednesday 6-4 Thursday 6-5 BYE Tuesday 6-10 Wednesday 6-11 • Saturday June 14th 7on7 Passing Jamboree at Frederick High School, 9am to 5pm ( 4 games guaranteed) • Where: Walkersville Heritage Park • If interested Sign up with Coach Lynott, Attend 1 or 2 practice sessions, Attend Games
