  3. The long reign of Sargon began around 2300 BCE….. ✺ Sargon built the first capital city and named it Agade ✺ Sargon assembled a very large army and used military strategies to conquer neighboring cities ✺ Sargon was the first ruler to decree that his sons would rule after him

Hammurabi and his code of laws…. ✺ Hammurabi was responsible for writing the first set of laws that everyone needed to follow ✺ Hammurabi’s code covered many situations including trade, marriage, divorce, payment for work and punishment for crimes ✺ Hammurabi made god the Marduk supreme as well as creating roads and postal service.
