Steering Committee • Membership • 6 co-opted Heads of Faculty • 1 EMT support representative – this representative does not need to attend each meeting but they will be included in all communications. • Where necessary the Steering Committee can co-opt any other ADEC employee to provide input or guidance to the Steering Committee. • This group will meet fortnightly between 3 and 4 pm.

  3. Steering Committee • Purpose • Provide support to Heads of Faculty • In a general sense • Help define the Head of Faculty role in context • Where needed help HoF’s understand their role within their school • Resource Head of Faculty support • Share resources and within the PLC develop a HoF handbook • Facilitate Head of Faculty support • Link HoF’s with other HoF’s who can provide the resources, support or guidance that is needed by individual HoF’s. • Facilitate HoF PLC sessions • Facilitate effective, current and open communication • Liaise between HoF PLC and EMT support with the aim • Ensuring effective communication.

  4. Steering Committee Works under the guidance of English Medium Teacher Support Team.

  5. Guiding Committee • Membership • Schools across Abu Dhabi will be organized into geographical support groups • Within each support group there will be one Head of Faculty represent the group on the guiding committee (this leadership may be interchangeable) • One of the functions of this group is to provide support, guidance and mentoring to each other. • This group will meet monthly between 3 and 4 pm with the Steering Committee.

  7. HoF Professional Learning Community • Membership • All Heads of Faculty across Abu Dhabi schools • This group will meet as follows • Monthly ( or more often is needed) as a support group – an afternoon meeting at a school within the their geographical area – the timing of these meetings will be organized by the Head of Faculty who is the mentor / contact person for the pod. • When these meetings occur Principals need to be informed so that they are able to support the development of this PLC.

  8. HoF Professional Learning Community • Purpose • To be a Professional Learning Community which provides • Care • Communication • Collaboration • Capacity Building • To enable its members to implement the New School Model successfully in their schools.
