  3. AGENDA • What is MSDN AA, Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance? -What is it all about? -What is ELMS? • What is FACULTY CONNECTION? -What does it comprise of? -What is the difference with MSDN AA?

Purpose of MSDN AA For university departments preparing students for careers in technology and seeking Microsoft software, MSDN AA is the simplest and most inexpensive way to get constant access to the latest Microsoft software because the program offers everything institutions need to provide software to labs, classrooms and PCs used by students.

  5. What is included in MSDN AA? Designer AA Developer AA • Professional level tools and commercial software • Almost all of Microsoft Professional Developer Tools eg. VS2008, VSTS, SQL Server, XNA……. • Almost all commercially available software eg. Sharepoint, Vista O/S,………..(EXCEPT MS Office) • Expressions Suite

  6. What else is included in MSDN AA? • 2. Faculty is able to distribute Microsoft software and product keys to all of your students through ELMS • 3. Access to the ACADEMIC RESOURCES • Curriculum, Courseware, Powerpoint slides shared resources available that you can use for your lectures

  7. What does it cost? www.msdnaa.net It is FREE to faculty and students as long as it is used for teaching purposes and using ‘download’ only (i.e. via website)

  10. Why Faculty Connection? Faculty Connection is our platform to broadly reach faculty around the world. It has the latest information about Microsoft products It allows interaction between Faculty around the world and locally Faculty can use Faculty Connection as their own Academic Resource and Software are also available as in MSDN AA

  11. Articles Articles found on Faculty Connection are there to help facilitate community members in staying current with Microsoft educational programs and initiatives. Faculty Connection is a single comprehensive source for articles which are timely and relevant to your local academic community.

  12. Events Knowledge of technology and industry developments is crucial for Faculty Connection members to stay current in their chosen fields. By being aware of key events, members can convene with other leaders in their field and stay on top of emerging technologies. If they don’t have the time or budget to attend, you can make the event content available to them through Faculty Connection.

  13. Community The Faculty Connection Community forums help your community members to connect with their colleagues and with Microsoft. The forums provide a way to share knowledge, concerns, challenges and successes. By submitting their ideas, collaborating with their peers and gaining access to real-time discussions on relevant topics, Faculty Connection community members can gain recognition for their ideas and insight into what others in their field are doing and thinking.

  14. Newslink The Faculty Connection Newslink is an easy way to communicate what is new from Microsoft in education. Each month Newslink will include new features added to the site and recap some the more interesting discussions and submissions. The Newslink can be viewed from the site or delivered via E-mail and RSS feed.

  15. Software As a verified member of the Faculty Connection community, faculty will have access to Microsoft software products, technologies and tools. The software offerings extend the benefit of software access to faculty who are not members of MSDN AA departments. Even faculty who currently have access to MSDN AA can benefit when we provide access to software within related resources. Faculty Connection makes it easier than ever to deliver software when and where faculty want to receive it. Academic Resource Center The Academic Resource Center page is designed to highlight material in the Academic Resource Center (http://www.academicresourcecenter.net). This site is designed to house our collection of curricula, faculty preparation and reference materials, learning activities and presentations that can be used by faculty to incorporate Microsoft into the classroom.
