  1. Ms. Wigley’s ELA Class Our Schedule

  2. Spirals • You will keep Spiral #2 with you and bring it to class every day. Spiral #1 needs to stay in class. • Spiral #1 • 1. SSW • 2. SSW • 3. Weekly Writing • Spiral #2 • 1. Notes • 2. Spelling • 3. Rough Drafts

  3. Lost and Found Crate • If you find something that does not belong to you please put it in the blue Lost and Found Crate. • If you have lost something you should check the box before class begins. • You do not need to give a found item to me or ask if I have found something.

  4. Heading on Paper • Name, Date, Class Period • Top, Right-Hand Corner • Papers with no names will be taped to the back white board. These assignments will lose 5 points.

  5. Complete Sentences • All assignments that get turned in must be written in complete sentences or you will lose points.

  6. Turning in Work • Be sure to put your heading on your work. • Find the box with your class period. • If you are not absent and don’t have your work ready to turn in on time, you must sign the no homework binder with your name and the date.

  7. SSR/SSW • We read for 25 minutes at the beginning of every class period. You need to bring a book to class from one of the following places: • Lakeview Library • Class Library • From Home • You will then be given a writing prompt that you will answer based on what you read that day (SSW).

  8. SSR Conferences • You must conference with me once every six weeks about a book that you have read. • This means that you are expected to read at least one entire book in a six weeks time period. • Conferences are held during SSR time. • When you have completed a book, raise your hand and tell me that you are ready to conference. • I will ask you questions about your book and ask that you read one page aloud to me…you pick the page.

  9. Weekly Writing • We will have weekly writing on the board every Friday. You need to get your spiral and begin working on this as soon as you enter the room.

  10. Textbooks • Textbooks will be issued at a later date. • 2 textbooks and one workbook • Textbooks stay home and workbook stays here • Online access to the textbook will be given later, but I do recommend taking books home.
