  2. *ABOUT THE MICROWAVE* • The microwave is a cooking device that can cook or re-heat food much faster than a conventional oven. When you use a microwave, basically all you have to do is put your food inside the microwave on a plate or in a bowl, set the timer on how long you want your food to heat up, and when the timer goes off, you just take the food out and enjoy!

  3. ~WHO INVENTED THE MICROWAVE~ • A man by the name of Dr. Percy Spencer invented the microwave. The idea came about because of radar waves ended up melting a chocolate bar in Percy’s pocket. Percy was an engineer who worked for a company called Raytheon, which was in here in America. So the company then began selling the oven around 1947.

  4. (THE BIG IMPACT ON MICROWAVES) • The microwave has been around for about 70 years now and it really comes in handy. To me, it is way more easy to heat up your food in the microwave, instead of using the traditional ovens. The microwave is best when your in a rush or if you are running late and you need to heat up your food before hitting the road. Microwaves have an impact on the environment because it uses so much electricity, which can lead to problems with our environment.

  5. -SOCIETY’S OPINION ON MICROWAVES- • Some people believe that microwaves are making food radio-active because microwaves use a form of electromagnetic radiation. They pass through glass, paper, and plastic and are absorbed by food, producing heat that can re-heat or cook food. So they feel that the microwave food is not safe. Some people also say that they aren’t healthy either. They say this because microwaves reduce the vitamins in food more than regular ovens. They say that microwaves cook the food so fast that it leaves less time for the heat to really break down the vitamins that we need for our food to be completely healthy.

  6. <INVENTION IN THE FUTURE> • In the future, I predict that the microwave will become more popular to society throughout the world. I believe that the microwave will become more advertised and start selling like crazy. • 10 years from now, I think that the microwave oven would look very high-tech. I say this because microwaves back then were really dull. Now a days, people are coming out with all kinds of different models so in the future, it might get even better. I think it would have a small remote control to work the microwave in 10 years. So, we will have to wait and see the transformation of microwaves 10 years from now…!
