Tamworth Cricket Club Anti Bullying Policy Tamworth Cricket Club is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our junior members so they can feel included in a safe, caring environment without the fear of being bullied. Bullying is an anti-social behaviour and affects everyone. Bullying of any kind is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated at Tamworth Cricket Club. Bullying can be: Emotional being unfriendly, excluding, tormenting (e.g. hiding books, threatening gestures) Physical pushing, kicking, hitting, punching or any use of violence Racist racial taunts, graffiti, gestures Sexual unwanted physical contact or sexually abusive comments Homophobic because of, or focussing on the issue of sexuality Verbal name-calling, sarcasm, spreading rumours, teasing Cyber All areas of internet ,such as email & internet chat room misuse Mobile threats by text messaging & calls Misuse of associated technology , i.e. camera &video facilities PLAYERS MUST BE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT BULLYING TO TEAM MANAGERS/COACHES OR THE CLUB CHILD WELFARE OFFICER The following steps will be taken when dealing with incidents of bullying. • If bullying is suspected or reported, the incident will be dealt with immediately by the Team Manager/Captain or Child Welfare Officer and the parents or carers notified. • A clear account of the incident will be recorded and, if not resolved by the above, will be dealt with by the Club’s Management Committee. Players who have been bullied will be supported by; • offering an immediate opportunity to discuss the experience with the team Manager or Child Welfare Officer, • reassuring the player, • offering continuous support, • restoring self-esteem, Players who have bullied will be helped by; • discussing what happened with the team Manager or Child Welfare Officer, • discovering why the player became involved, • establishing the wrongdoing and need to change, • Informing the parents/carers to help change the attitude of the player The following disciplinary steps may be taken; • official warnings to cease offending, • exclusion from certain club activities, • Permanent exclusion from the club.  Monitoring, evaluation and review This policy will be reviewed annually and its implementation and effectiveness assessed. The policy will be promoted and implemented throughout the club. This policy has been written with KIDSCAPE as its source.
