  1. ACT ASPIRE Parent Information Meeting April 22, 2014

What is the ACT ASPIRE? • This new testing system is a vertically-aligned, benchmarked, standards-based system of assessments that will be used to highlight progress towards ACT College Readiness Standards and Benchmarks as well as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) recently adopted in Alabama. • It is comprised of multiple choice and open-ended response questions. • We will administer these tests in a paper and pencil format on May 6-7, 2014.

  3. What tests will my child take? • Every student at Deshler Middle will take the Math and Reading sections of this test. • All students will complete the Math section of the test on Tuesday, May 6. 6th and 7th grade students will have 60 minutes to complete this test. 8th grade students will have 65 minutes to complete the test. • All students will complete the Reading section of the test on Wednesday, May 7. 6th – 8th grade students will have 60 minutes to complete this test.
