Proposed Mission by the WCAPSU Revival Team:
The West Coast Asian Pacific Islander Student Union (WCAPSU) is dedicated to educating, supporting, and advocating for the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) students and communities throughout the West Coast states through partnerships with API(A) communities and organizations.
Assistance in Admission and Records
API Advocacy Club
Empowerment (ex. to remove the stigma of the thinking that De Anza is “just” a community college)
Awareness (ex. to be able to identify and advocate for APA social issues in an ethnoburb/bubble)
(to be accomplished by peer members as well as outside volunteers)
THERE’S A NEED FOR MORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE REPRESENTATION IN THESE STUDENT UNIONS BECAUSE WE HAVE SPECIFIC STRUGGLES THAT NEED SUPPORT AND ADVOCACY.
