What are our Must-Haves? • Which 7-10 TEKS/concepts have the most weight? • Endurance: Will the standard provide students with knowledge and skills beyond a single test date? • Leverage: Will the standard provide knowledge and skills that are of value in multiple disciplines? • Readiness for the Next Level: Will the standard provide the students with essential knowledge and skills that are necessary for their success in the next grade level?

Sample Must-Have • 6th Science : 6.2E analyze data to formulate reasonable explanations, communicate valid conclusions supported by the data, and predict trends. • Endurance: Key in developing critical thinking skills • Leverage: Skill needed in Math and Social Studies • Readiness for the Next Level: Skill necessary to conduct scientific investigations in high school courses
