  5. Central America • Central America is between North and South America and includes the countries: • Belize • Costa Rica • El Salvador • Guatemala • Honduras • Nicaragua • Panama

  6. Caribbean • The area of the Caribbean includes the islands within the Caribbean Sea. • This includes the following island groups: • Bahaman Islands • Greater Antilles • Lesser Antilles

  7. South America • South America is a continent in its own right. • The Equator runs through South America.

  11. Glossary Equator an imaginary line dividing the earth into two hemispheres. Greater Antilles A group of Caribbean islands comprising the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Lesser Antilles A group of Caribbean islands comprising the Leeward Islands (Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Guadeloupe, Monserrat, Saba, St Eustatius, St Kitts and Nevis, St. Maarten/St Martin), the Virgin Islands, the Windward Islands and the small chain of Venezuelan islands east of Bonaire.
