  2. Meeting Etiquette • Participants automatically enter the webinar in “listen only” mode. The organizer will then unmute all participants. We ask if you are not speaking to manually mute yourself • NOTE: VoIP participants have the ability to “Mute” themselves by clicking on the green microphone. However, if you would like to speak, only you can unmute yourself. • If you are dialing in using a telephone and NOT using the VoIP you MUST dial the audio pin in order for the organizer to unmute you – if you do not use the audio pin and just push # when prompted the Organizer cannot unmute you

  3. Meeting Etiquette CONTINUED • If you are calling from a telephone, please do not put your phone on hold. If you need to take a call, hang up and dial in again when you have completed your other call • This meeting is being recorded • Another reason to keep your phone or your VoIP on mute when not speaking • Use the “Chat” or “Question” feature for questions, comments and items you would like the moderator or other panelists to know.

  7. e-Competency Framework & Bridging the Competency Gaps • Mary Cleary will provide an overview of the European e-Competency Framework and then discuss bridging the competency gaps

Mapping of UKCHIP Standards of Competence to UK Requirements for Certification of Individuals • Jean Roberts has mapped the UK Council for Health Informatics Professions (UKCHIP) standards of competence to the UK requirements for certification of individuals. • Common Overlap between the UK and EU-US Work • Many of the UK Generic Professional Standards do not appear at this (intermediate) level but might be described in the basic levels (or not) • Some of the UK Generic Informatics competences are not addressed explicitly, but it is argued may be embedded in more specific elements by implication • A number of areas where the US focus on detail are only covered in our standards under the remit of 'in your own area of work

Proof of Concept: Sample Role/Curricula Mapping • Rachelle Blake will introduce a proof of concept that maps some preliminary roles (as suggested by this group) to both formal and informal HIT training • We would like the community to take a look at this spreadsheet and provide feedback to any member of the support team *Roadmap: “Create a needs analysis that looks at what current curricula and training exist, identify the gaps, and develop solutions to bridge the gap (e.g. plan to develop new curricula)”

Next Steps • Join us next Thursday, August 14th, 2014 • Continue to refine the “sample role/curricula mapping” spreadsheet • Continue to integrate areas of EU/US/UK overlap into our current competencies • Have an update on the approval process for the Direct Patient Care Bucket that has been complete
