  1. TCDSB Anchor of Hope

  2. Introducing Anchor of Hope In celebration of our Year of Hope, this will present TCDSB schools with an opportunity to share ideas of what hope looks like within their local school communities.

  3. What is the Anchor of Hope A large wooden anchor will be constructed by TCDSB students, and this will be displayed in the atrium of the Catholic Education Centre. Each school in the TCDSB will be presented with the challenge of submitting one official photo (and/or message) of ‘what hope looks like in their community’. These digital photos will be submitted by each school via email.

  4. The anchor is being designed to display three digital picture frames, which will showcase a slide presentation of photos and messages of hope that are sent from each school in the TCDSB. (Please note that video submissions can not be used.) Principals will be encouraged to tweet their photos to their school communities.

  5. The Video All photos and messages will be compiled into a video, set to the music of ‘Hope In Christ’ written by Susan Hookong-Taylor of the Catholic Teacher Centre. Scanning a QR code on the anchor will launch the video from the board’s website www.tcdsb.org.

  6. Each school will receive a copy of the finished video, and schools are invited to play the video at year end masses and/or assemblies on a Day of Hope in the spring. The video will allow each school to witness the interpretations of hope across the board.

  7. The Anchor of Hope will be displayed next to the Witness to Faith Cross in the atrium of the CEC. Those visiting the CEC will be invited to write messages of hope and attach them to the chain of the anchor.
