Rise and Rule of Single Party States • One IB topic is about the rise of authoritarian regimes in the 20th century. • Choose a dictator: • IdiAmin • Fidel Castro • Francisco Franco • Benito Mussolini • Juan Peron • Kim Jung Il • Mao Zedong • Saddam Hussein • Research the conditions in one country that led to the rise of one of the above dictators, and the policies of the dictator in dealing with those conditions • In a group of 4-5 people, prepare a 15 minute presentation using ppt, prezi, etc. • All students must help in the development of the presentation and all must speak on the day of the presentation

  3. Causes, Practices, Effects of War • Another IB topic is about 20th century wars. There are a variety of wars: civil wars, guerilla wars, total wars, limited wars, revolutions • Choose one of the following: • WWI** • WWII** • Vietnam • Chinese Civil War • Iran-Iraq War • Algerian Civil War • Korean War • Spanish Civil War • Research the causes, practices, OR effects of the war. ** For WWI or WWII, please focus on the practices (tactics, weapons, naval warfare, air war, new inventions, etc). • In a group of 4-5 people, prepare a 15 minute presentation using ppt, prezi, etc. • All students must help in the development of the presentation and all must speak on the day of the presentation. • No group may have the same presentation in a class.

  4. 100 Point Assignment • 50 for visual presentation • Items to consider: • Neatness • Aesthetics • Organization • 50 for oral presentation • Preparation • Delivery • Organization/flow • thoroughness
