  3. 15 days to complete 15 Sustrans routes • Ride your bike or scoot to school every day • Get your parents and teachers to join in • The more journeys your school makes the faster you finish each stage • The school that finishes all 15 stages or their special stage in the fastest time, wins! Racing the route!

  4. Important things to remember! • Check out how your school is doing by visiting the Big Pedal website: http://bigpedal.org.uk • Colour in each stage on the wall chart as you finish it • Encourage your family and school mates to ride to school too • Remember to have FUN on your bike and scooter! • Put up your wall chart so everyone can see it • Ride and scoot safely! • Register your journeys with your teacher each day (don’t forget to register your parents’ journeys too) • Remind your teacher to add up your class journeys ready to go on the website at the end of each day

  5. There are categories for small primary schools, large primary schools, and secondary schools (which one are you in?) • Prizes will be awarded to the winning schools in each of the categories at a UK and country level • The faster you complete your stages the higher the chance you have of winning the prizes • All you and your family need to do is cycle or scoot to school on as many of the days as you can, and try to get your school to the top of the leaders table Can you win anything for your school?

  6. Flash Splodge • Start your Big Pedal off with an event and raise money at the same time • To keep things fun, the first day of the Big Pedal (28 February) is to be a ‘Superheroes day’ • Everyone at the school can take part, whether or not they have a bike • Dress yourself, your bike or scooter as a superhero and donate £1 • Submit your superhero photos to the Big Pedal website for your school’s chance to win a bumper kit bag of hi-viz goodies • All proceeds will go towards supporting Sustrans’ charitable work in schools and local communities Blades GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY!
