  2. Citavi and The ProcessofScholarly Writing Citavi is the perfect reference management tool for research. It supports you through the entire process: from planning to searching online, to working with your sources and organizing knowledge, and of course preparing your manuscript. On your own or in a team.

  3. The Reference Editor Navigation on the left, edit-ingin the middle, preview on the right for PDF and text documents, images, Web pages and your own knowledge items. Import EndNote libraries, RIS, BibTeX, ENW, or other text files.

  4. Table View Add columns, sort, and group your data. Export to Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice.org Calc.

  5. Online Search Citavi lets you search over 4000 online resources, including shared library catalogs and bibliographic databases – and countless university libraries. Citavi’s online search offers the same search fields as each catalog’s website. If you search multiple catalogs at once, Citavi offers all the options they have in common. In cooperation with:

  6. Home In With Citavi you can search your local library catalog, add your favorite library’s call numbers to books you found somewhere else, and check the availability of your references with OpenURL. Citavi autodetectsdataba-sesyour organization has subscribed to and helps your organization’s IT department to easily set the administra-tive settings for all users.

  7. The Task Planner Citavi's Task Planner lets you manage your project tasks, remind you of deadlines, and make sure you stay on track. Designed specifically for scholarly work, the Task Planner makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

  8. Studying Use the preview to view images, videos, and presentations, and to read and evaluate PDFs and other full texts. Click to copy a passage to the reference as a quotation, abstract or table of contents.

  9. The Knowledge Organizer By saving knowledge items — quotations, thoughts, and comments — in the Knowl-edge Organizer, Citavi helps you make sense of content and create knowledge from information. Citavi gives you two tools for organizing and structuring your collected knowledge: Keywords help you describe items, while categories let you structure and group.

  10. Publishing With the Publication Assist-ant, you insert citations and quotations into your manu-script. When you're done, Citavi formats your paper in the citation style you need, complete with bibliography. Choose from over 700 citation styles or create your own. Add-In for Microsoft Word coming soon.

  11. More Useful Features The family of Picker extensions let you grab references and quotations from your Web browser or Adobe Reader: • Send the current page or document to Citavi as a reference. • Save selected text as a quotation in Citavi. • Save abstracts, tables of contents, and keywords just as easily. • Save images as image quotations or cover art. • The Picker detects every ISBN and DOIname on a Web page. Just one click and the reference is added to your project. For LaTeX users, Citavi has advanced BibTeX support. The Team version of Citavi allows concurrent read-write access to a project by multiple users, so groups can maintain a single project, for example, a shared repository of literature or depart-mental library holdings.

  12. Summary Supports the process of scholarly writing: gathering, planning, organizing, studying, and publishing. Supports more online resources than other reference management programs. Includes browser extensions to help you transfer information to your projects. Provides knowledge-building tools for summarizing, categorizing, annotating, and commenting. Supports working in teams. Includes extensive support and training offerings.
