A Community School is… Both a place and a network of supportive partnerships between the school and the community, promoting improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities.  It is the best vehicle for effectively mobilizing community assets to support student learning.

Youth Development/Out of School Time MISSION To create a safe environment with caring and skilled adults where young people 4 through 18 can explore opportunities to master new skills, gain knowledge, and experience self-enhancement. The goal is to develop, enhance, and/or expand opportunities for safe, healthy, and enriching activities for youth ages 4 through 18.  The activities are to be age appropriate, accessible, affordable, and when possible, done in partnership with other agencies and organizations.

The OU-Tulsa Community Engagement Center (OUCEC) creates and sustains community partnerships that advance teaching, research and service learning to promote civic development. It brings together resources from higher education, public schools, organizations, and businesses to create experiential learning environments that improve student achievement and develop strong neighborhoods.

HIGHER ED FORUM Vision Statement The vision of the OUCEC Higher Education Forum is to develop collaborative and innovative strategies to coordinate, integrate and support the education pipeline. Linking high schools to colleges through service learning projects, internships and career exploration provides opportunities in an experiential learning environment to improve student achievement and develop stronger communities in northeastern Oklahoma. The goal of the OU CEC Higher Education Forum is to link high schools to colleges through service learning projects, internships and career exploration opportunities in an experiential learning environment.  These experiences will improve student achievement and develop stronger communities in northeastern Oklahoma.
