Membership and Organization WV Space Grant Consortium WVSGC Board: One representative from each academic member (WVU, Marshall Univ., WVU IT, WV State Univ., WV Wesleyan, Fairmont State Univ., Shepherd Univ., West Liberty State, Bethany, Bluefield State, Wheeling Jesuit Univ.) and NASA IV & V Facility, WVHTCF, Workforce West Virginia, and three consultants (R. Duckworth, J. Finstein, D. Avers) WVSGC is a “Designated Grant” Consortium, elevated from a “Capability Enhancement” Consortium status

  4. Membership and Organization NASA WV EPSCoR The NASA WV ESPCoR Committee consists of the WVSGC Board plus two representatives from WV EPSCoR Program: Dr. Paul Hill, State Director, WV EPSCoR Dr. Howard Aulick, VP for Research, Marshall University

  5. Menu of Space Grant/ EPSCoR Programs Research & Workforce Development Programs 1. Research Initiation Grants To conduct research of interest to NASA in collaboration with a NASA scientist 2. Joint University-Industry Research Opportunity Program To work on a collaborative research project with high tech companies in West Virginia 3. Summer Faculty Fellowship Programs at NASA A ten-week summer fellowship to conduct research associated with an on-going project at a NASA Field Center

  6. Menu of Space Grant/ EPSCoR Programs Research & Workforce Development Programs 4. NASA EPSCoR Research Seed Grants Small seed grants to prepare for larger research efforts and proposals 5. NASA EPSCoR Travel Grant Program To travel to NASA Centers to meet with NASA scientist to discuss and initiate research collaboration 6. NASA EPSCoR College-University Collaboration Program Faculty from WVU or Marshall team up with faculty from smaller colleges in WV in a research mentoring role

  7. Menu of Space Grant/ EPSCoR Programs Research & Workforce Development Programs 7. NASA WVSGC Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program Provides funding for undergraduate students working on a thesis or dissertation with a faculty from member institutions 8. NASA WVSGC Graduate Research Fellowship Program Provides support for graduate students to get involved in a research project under the supervision of their academic advisor 9. NASA WVSGC Research Seed Grants Similar to item 4 (except that this grant provides $20,000)

  8. Menu of Space Grant/ EPSCoR Programs Education Programs 1. College Course Development Grant Program Development and offering of new courses in STEM fields at our member institutions 2. Pre-college Course Development Grant Program STEM related course development at the K-12 level 3. K-12 Outreach Various K-12 outreach activities to stimulate interest in STEM related subjects

WVSGC Public Service and Outreach Grants • Support outreach activities such as conferences that promote the understanding, education, development and utilization of space, seminars that encourage interdisciplinary training and research in aerospace-related fields
