  2. Proposal • To revise the policy document APNIC-103-v001: ‘Operational policies for National Internet Registries in the APNIC region’

  3. Motivation • Include ip6.arpa delegations • Reflect current operational practice for automated and manual processes • Provide flexibility for adoption of future technical operational advancements and changes in best practice

  4. Changes • Section 3.4 • include ip6.arpa • Manual process • MyAPNIC • Automated process • Specified at www.apnic.net/services/dns_guide.html • Remove appendix ‘Details of flat file view of a zone’ • Six month notice period of future change

  5. Benefits • Less prescriptive on technical implementation • More flexibility for future technology • Allows NIR flexibility of choice • Includes ip6.arpa (not currently covered) • Promotes continuous improvement in technology services

  6. Implementation • Two weeks after EC endorsement • Update DNS Guide operational procedure on the APNIC website • Post revised operational policy

  7. Summary • Seeking consensus from the community to revise the policy document APNIC-103-v001: ‘Operational policies for National Internet Registries in the APNIC region’ as stated.
