  4. Listen to what this man chooses... • D I D Answer the following questions whilst listening: • What songs does he choose? • What are the reasons he chooses them for? • What book does he take with him and why? • What luxury does he choose and why?

  5. Invitation to DIDs!Speaking and Listening Task • You have been invited as a guest on the much revered BBC Radio 4 programme, Desert Island Discs! • You must be prepared to give and justify your choices for: • At least 3 music pieces. The tracks you have chosen must have a specific meaning for you, and you must be able to justify your choices • These tracks should reflect the different moods/emotions you will experience, and help you overcome them…when you are DESERTED and ALONE  • One luxury whichmust be a luxury and not a need e.g. you would not be allowed matches to start a fire • One book which can be fiction or non-fiction “They give you the Complete Works of Shakespeare…and the Bible!”

  6. Ms Ziegler’s D I Ds • My songs are: • Life on Mars by David Bowie: it sums up my broken hearted feelings at breaking up with my first boyfriend, reminds me of starting college, and helps me to remember that things do get better. • Wake up Boo, by the Boo Radleys. This song always makes me feel happy. • Just Jack: Embers. The most beautiful song I have ever heard. • Runners up: Five Years Time by Noah and the Whale, One thing by Amerie • I would choose the complete works of Jane Austen. Plenty in there to keep me occupied! I have read these books hundreds of times already, and I know I won’t get bored of them.
