So what is vdi
So what is VDI?

  • VMs on Hyper-V running desktop OS – users access via RDS

    • Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS has specific enhancements to facilitate VDI

  • Why?

    • Basically another way to deliver RDS

    • Multiple OS instances (1 per user) instead of one shared instance per server

    • Solves issues that may exist with traditional shared server solutions
