Is facebook really safe? ~PRIVACY~ ✏depending on the settings you use & the friends you add it could be safe as much as facebook could get. ✏You would have to switch you’re viewing settings to friends only and also do not add people you don’t know. ✏If you upload a picture onto facebook it is stored in the cloud and any company has the legal rights to use it for their advertisements. ✏If you like a page on facebook they have permission to say that you are one of their happy customers.

  3. “like or you’ll die” On facebook there’s a lot of pictures on facebook stating if you like it or share it something outrageous could happen, such as “if you don’t like this you will die at midnight” or Like to cure cancer, or maybe there will be a story about a person who died, saying If you don’t like and share, the same thing will happen to you. Liking a picture has no effect on life what so ever.

  4. Strangers on facebook • A lot of people add people add people that they do not know, you could be adding anybody because it only takes a couple of seconds to make a profile. Facebook recommends friends because you have mutual friends, meaning if one of your friends adds someone on facebook, it will ask if they are your friends so a lot of people just click the add button repetitively adding whoevers name shows up, sometimes not even having mutual friends.

  5. Online predators • There are many online predators on facebook, you can never be completely 100% sure who your actually adding. Since people can use any name as many times as they want, there could be several different people with your friends name so make sure there the right person.

  6. Facebook pages and groups If you like a page they can show up in your newsfeed and if they say something inappropriate you could unlike that specific page and not hear from them again. Fan pages such as “carlyraejepsen” or “ a famous person” could be fake and not by the actual person that it is stating.

  7. Facebook in general Facebook is a social network that can allow you to talk to distant friends or people that live next to you! Adding someone you do not know is not allowed if you get a friend request from someone you don’t know you can click the words “I do not know this person.” and they will not be able to try to add you again. Facebook was created in febuary 2004 by mark zuckerberg at harvard university.
