  2. Layout and Design • As an iPad application, SEE will reach a larger portion of its target audience. • The application will include 3D animated videos, step by step instructions, galleries containing tutorial pictures and tips for accommodating to your location. • The proposed app will use a typical universal apple-style user interface.

  4. Content and Research • Hydro equipment such as a Trompe (see diagram), are extremely universal as long as there is some water source available. Many materials can be used to create something similar to this. Research credit: www.motherearthnews.com

  5. Content and Research • A homemade wind turbine can be created using scrap materials • The basic utensils for this are: 1. A Generator 2. Blades 3. A mounting to keep it facing into the wind 4. A tower to hold it high in the wind 5. A basic control system • All of these can be created from basic materials Research credit: www.mdpub.com/Wind_Turbine/index.html

  6. Development for iPad • Know the iPad’s capabilities (split view/popover/custom keyboard/gesture recognition). • Create guidelines for app – tech specs, versions, orientations • Programming – Xcode, iPhone SDK, Cocoa, Objective C • Design – Icons, UI, iPad stencils • Testing – testing software, peer test, test in airplane mode Research credits: http://ipadappsplus.com/ Sams Teach Yourself iPad Application Development in 24 Hours (John Ray)
