  2. GENESIS 11:27-32 “27 This is the genealogy of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran begot Lot. 28 And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans. 29 Then Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah. 30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child. 31 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there. 32 So the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran.”

GENESIS 11:1-5 1 Now the LORD had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." 4 ¶ So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. 5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan.

TERAH WAS A DEFEATD MAN A MAN WHO DOES NOT ACCOMPLISH HIS GOAL IS A FRUSTRATED MAN

Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. BUT ABRAHAM STARTED TO GO TO CANAAN AND HE REACHED CANAAN

Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. HE REFUSED TO SETTLE IN HARAN HE REFUSED TO SETTLE WHERE HIS FATHER SETTLED HE REFUSED TO BOW BEFORE THE OBSTACLES THAT STOPPED HIS FATHER

Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. • HE DECIDED TO PURSUE THE INITIAL GOAL • HE DECIDED TO PURSUE THE INITIAL VISION • HE DECIDED TO TAKE UP THE CHALLENGE

  13. Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan. So they came to the land of Canaan. ABRAHAM DECIDED TO REACH CANAAN AND HE REACHED CANAAN

  14. THE POWER OF DECISION HE DECIDED AND HE SUCCEEDED HE WHO DECIDE WILL SUCCEED

  15. GOD’S PERFECT WILL GOD WANTS HIS CHILDREN TO BE OVERCOMERS 1John 5:4 “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.”

  16. GOD’S PERFECT WILL GOD WANTS HIS CHILDREN TO BE CONQUERORS Romans 8:37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

MAN’S TENDENCY TO SETTLE GOD NEVER WANTED MAN TO SETTLE GENESIS 11:1-3 “1 Now the whole earth had one language and few words. 2 And as men migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 And they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly." And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar.”

MAN’S TENDENCY TO SETTLE IN COMFORT ZONES GOD OPPOSES THOSE WHO SETTLE GENESIS 11:3-8 “4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. 6 And the LORD said, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." 8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city..”

  42. MAN’S TENDENCY TO SETTLE IN COMFORT ZONES IT IS SAID THAT AN AVERAGE MAN EXPLOITS ONLY 2% OF HIS INTELLECTUAL POTENTIAL
