  5. Example 1 Compare the number of dogs to cats using a ratio

  7. Ex. 2 • Write the ratio in simplest form that compares the number of suns to the number of moons. Then explain its meaning.

  8. Remember to simplify! For every 2 suns, there are 3 moons.

  9. Ex. 3 Several students were asked to name their favorite kind of book. Write the ratio that compares the number of students who chose fantasy books to the total number of students.

So, each section represents 35 ÷ 7 or 5 cans. There are 15 cans of food in the first groupand 20 cans of food in the second group.
