Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That!

Research

Urquhart and McIver assert:

• Technology can enrich student learning as it allows teachers the opportunity to bring current, diverse materials into their classrooms.

• Technology, when used creatively, allows traditional topics to be taught in motivating, creative ways.

• Technology makes the inaccessible, accessible.

STUDENT WRITING SAMPLES:

I believe they were both, because even though most of the men manipulated society and took advantage of any way to make money they could, they still created the society we live in today. It might not be perfect, but it’s better than nothing. If they hadn't been the robber barons and captains of industry that they were, we wouldn't have what we have today, and without it, life as we know it would fall apart.

I believe that the leaders of industry were more like captains of industry because a lot of them donated money to charities and set up foundations to help people. They also invented a lot of things to help the productivity in America.

I think they are more like robber barons, because they were cruel to their workers. Yes they gave away money but Jay Gould bribed people with it. Cornelius Vanderbilt disowned all of his kids but his son William.
