  1. ATTENDANCE: School opens at 8.45am. We have a self-registering system where the children mark themselves in on a class attendance board. Please make sure your child is in on time so we can be the most punctual class in school! You can pick your child up at 3.00pm at the hall doors. If you would like your child to walk home on their own, please make sure you send a signed note to school confirming this. PREFECTS: This year your child will have the opportunity to become a prefect. This is an important role and we will expect children to act as role models to the rest of the school. Exemplary behaviour and attitude towards work will be essential for this role and we look forward to appointing our new prefects. There will also be a fantastic opportunity to become head boy and head girl so, watch this space for further details! Year 6 News! Autumn Term 1 Miss Noor HelloandwelcometoYear6! Your new teacher is Miss Noor and your new teaching assistant is Miss Chuen. We are looking forward to working with you and your child in September. If you have any queries about your child or teaching in Year 6 please feel free to make an appointment. We have more time at the end of the school day. Ghana: Your child’s topic will be Ghana this term. They will have the chance to learn about life in the wonderful country and even Have the chance to meet teachers from Ghana! Read & Responds: You can help your child be a bri l l i ant reader by encouraging them to read for 20 minutes every night. Please make sure you sign your child’s read and respond every day. Homework: Maths Homework will be given out every Friday to be handed in on the following Monday. Literacy/topic homework will be given out every Wednesday to be handed in on Friday. PE Kit: Please make sure your child has his/her PE kit each week (Weds). This should include suitable trainers, t- shirt, tracksuit bottoms or shorts. Children are also allowed to bring a roll-on deodorant for use after PE. Your child should take their PE kit home every Friday so that it can be washed over the weekend.
