  2. About footy • AFL stands for Australian Football League its also known as Aussie rules or just footy. The sport is played between two teams with 18 players on each team, the games are played on a football ground which is basically the same as a cricket ground. The games objective is to move the ball down field and kick the ball through your teams goals. The way you score a goal is kicking the ball through the two large goal posts which scores your team 6 points, but if you kick or handball the ball between the two littler posts you will only score 1 point for you team. The game is split up in 15-20 minute quarters. The primary methods are kicking, handballing, bouncing and running, but in order to run with the ball you must bounce it every 15 steps you take. Throwing the ball is not aloud and pushing players in the back, tripping, kicking the ball out on the full are all things your not aloud to do. The team with the most goals and points scored at the end of the game wins.

  3. Football Positions • FF, FP- these 3 players are supposed to stay in the forward 50 meter ark and kick goals for their team. They are kind of like the attackers. • HF, CF- These 3 players are also aloud to kick goals but they usually just get the ball and deliver it to the full forwards. • W, R, C, RR- These 6 players are called the mid field, they are supposed to run the whole entire field and feed the ball down to their forward line. They also have to me the first players to contest the ball. • HB, CB- These 3 players do the same as the half forward and centre half forward but they are the defenders, they are called the back line and their job is to stop their attackers from kicking goals. • FB, BP- these guys are supposed to stop the attackers from kicking the goals as well but they are the players closer to the goals so they shouldn't leave the 50 meter ark just in case the other team does a quick turnover.

  4. Football equipment football 18 players In a football game it includes of 18 players per team to play a proper game. Most teams have more then 18 players per team because in one of the players get hurt there is always back up. A footy is always needed in a football game because otherwise there would be nothing to play with. The footy is oddly shaped making the person kicking it have to focus more on how they are going to kick it.

  5. Football rules Football dose not have many rules, but they have many ways you can do different techniques or styles to kick the footy or tackle a player. • Kicking the football - You can kick the football any way you want, but the ball must hit below your knee otherwise it is a foul kick. You may torpedo the ball or drop punt, floater or many more ways you can kick the footy. You can also handball the ball but with a closed fist, you can not through the ball and if you hit the ball with a open hand it is classified as a through. • Tackling- you can tackle a player from any angle, but you must tackle them from the chest to the hip, any higher then it is classified as a high tackle, any lower and it is classified as a trip. • Positioning- before the umpire throughs the ball up you must be behind the centre square if you are a mid fielder. If you are the full back line or full forward you must be behind the 50 metre ark. If you step over the line mainly in the mid field it is an instant free kick to the other team in the centre square. • Bouncing- you are aloud to take 3 bounces every 15 steps you take if you decide run with the ball, if you don’t bounce the ball the umpire will call to far and give a free kick to the opposition or ball it up.

  6. Football ground • Most football fields are around 150m long
