  2. Presenting Problem Katella High School has identified a population of students who are in need of a formalized Anger Management Group. The creation and facilitation of an Anger Management Group will meet a need at Katella High for comprehensive group mental health.

  3. Group Goals Reduce acting out and negative behavior due to anger and emotional outbursts at Katella High School Engage a culturally diverse population with tact and sensitivity using real world application and life long anger management skills acquisition Create a complete group instruction package that is easily transferable for the next facilitator

  4. Group Primer AUHSD currently has a basic facilitator’s manual for an Anger Management Group for adolescents. This pre-constructed primer provides a starting point for the facilitator as well as add an Evidence Based Practice (E.B.P.) approach for this vulnerable population.

  5. Group Parameters Ten students per group Eight week total group cycle time with seven weeks of instruction and one week for new group members interview and previous group closeout Both didactic and educational formats Focus on quality over quantity Culturally sensitive

  6. School Responsibility Same room availability every week Ten students Completion Certificate signed by Dr. Allemann, the group facilitator, and the district’s social worker Provide a client referral system for new group members
