  10. When an expression contains an exponent, simplify the expression using the rules for order of operations. Rule 1: Do all operations with grouping symbols first. Rule 2: Evaluate all powers from left toright. Rule 3: Do all multiplication/division from left to right. Rule 4: Do all addition/subtraction from left to right.
