  2. 2013 - 2014 : Our IC is acting and growing !! Emphasis on 3 points : • Membership growth : + 20 % in 2013 , and planning to keep growing New members : former 1st class players. • Communication Updated website + Tennis Magazine + Newspapers + and through former top players Also the Philanthropy programme is an excellent communicator. • Philanthropy Programme , a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports , our IC Uruguay programme is named “ Reves a las drogas “. Philanthropy Programme: Overview • " Reves a las Drogas - A setback to drugs"consists in setting up tennis schools and bringing to our sport children of poor neighborhoods where there is a high risk of drugs and violence- and thereby contribute  to a better quality of life . Agreement signed in 2013 with the Ministry of  Tourism and Sports to manage the Programme: - The choice of locations is done by the IC and the Ministry . - Selection of the coaches, financial management and methodology are under our advice. • 5 schools ( 4 in Montevideo, 1 in Cardona wich is minitennis ) • 200 children • 2 coaches : 1 for Montevideo and 1 for Cardona • Each school : 2 weekly sessions of two hours each • Ages : 8 to 14. • We use multisport areas or public squares

Philanthropy Programme:Other information • So far our programme is recreative and educative, we have no competitions between the children. (we will follow the progress of those who show particular abilities and eventually try to include them into tennis clubs) • Our 2014 highlight is to have installed a mini-tennis school, deep in the country side, Cardona, Soriano. • Life skills - Our coaches are mandated to develop as habits : - Ponctuality and tidiness - Respect to coach and among themselves - The joy of sport and recreation - First abilities to compete - The challenge of improvement. - value of friendship and family support • We are very happy with the future visit of Marion Bartoli , the IC Philanthropy Programme Ambassador ! ( scheduled for october )

  6. Philanthropy Programme: Our challenges • More coaches/hours: Having too many kids per session, It is very difficult for one coach to deal with groups. Therefore our intention for the balance of 2014, and 2015 is not to increase the quantity of children but to increase the hours devoted to them: more coaches, more hours... • More social and external activities We aim at adding social activities for kids, involving parents, and visiting tennis installations, and tennis events. These goals were recently shared and accepted by the Minister of Tourism and sports .

Philanthropy Programme: Finnancial situation & Supports • Funds  are provided by : The Ministry of Tourism and Sports:   Trough the IC Uruguay :                                  :  - The Robert Abdesselam Foundation ( 2nd year )   - The IC Philanthropy Programme • Other information : Active support of the IC of France.      - who visited us last year to help launch the programme      - who helped us to obtain from the FFT two kids tennis kits last year and 36 brand new junior racquets this year ( material already being used )
