  2. Galati is the capital of Galati County; • It is located in the Eastern Romania, and it is the 7th largest city in our country.

  6. Galati throughout history • The first mention of the city dates from 1445, but it is said to have been built by the Dacians. • In 1789, during the Russo- Turkish War, Galaţi was burnt down by the Russian forces.
