  1. CASMIICampaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention In Iran http://www.campaigniran.org/casmii/

  2. CASMII was founded by AbbasEdalat in England in 2005 and its US branch in 2006 CASMII was created to bridge the Iranian regime with the left part of American peace movement. CASMII is the “left” and “anti-Imperialist” version of NIAC. CASMII and NIAC has worked closely together but each organization has specific role. NIAC tries to position itself at the center

  3. A simple look at CASMII’s website leaves no doubt about their unconditional support to the Iranian regime. See: CASMII’s talking point on Iran’s nuclear program: Fact Sheets of Iran-US Standoff CASMII asks Iranian regime to “sue Israel and US in World Court”

  4. CASMII’s mission(by its president, AbbasEdalat)1: Systematically respond to biased and distorted articles in the media against Iran, 2: to mobilize opposition in the Iraq anti-war movement against any attack on Iran, and finally, 3: to lobby representatives in the US congress and the Senate against the war drive on Iran."

  5. CASMII criticized a peace organization because it had condemned human rights violations in Iran: “Your petition caves into US propaganda by devoting more space in its text to condemnation of the Iranian regime, which is to a large extent based on fallacies, inaccuracies and exaggeration. As citizens or residents of western countries, our essential duty is to oppose the aggressive and imperial policies of our own elected governments which we face and can impact rather than present a misleading and condescending picture of the internal situation in Iran and promote our version of "democracy" for a country with a different culture than ours. Rather than joining the bias Western media and condemning Iran for human rights violations… The war crimes and the gross violations of human rights committed by the coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, the human rights issues in Israel, and the Arab client states of the United Sates, as well as the violations of the U.S. Constitution, international renditions, Guantanamo Bay, and torture, will remain our main area of public focus.” CASMII & Iranian regime’sHuman rightshttp://www.zcommunications.org/opposing-theocratic-repression-in-iran-or-playing-into-hands-of-us-warmongers-by-casmii Hassan Daioleslam

If, for example, equal rights for women are actually not as popular in Iran as we wish, we would be better off facing the facts and asking what we are doing wrong, instead of inventing excuses or blaming the messenger. I was stunned during arecent visit to Iran to find that President Ahmadinejad is quite popular among women from all walks of life.” Hassan Daioleslam

  24. Two very good Iranian groups are working hard (NIAC) National Iranian American Council and the London based (CASMII) Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention against Iran. The latter had a hand in the Washington ad you shared with me. They are both also working closely together. This is really great and we know the heads of both, close friends. TritaParsa NIAC and AbbasEdalatCASMI. Their team work and cooperation should be emulated by all of us. Attached please find An article from DokhiFassihian, former Ex. Dir. of NIAC on How Iranian Americans can block attack on Iran. Dr. AbbasEdalat has also written a wonderful article on the threat. some important websites on major organizations and movement involved in the anti war campaign.  Once we get our act together we should try and link up to NIAC. Parker and I know Dr. TritaParsa. Hosseinis a good friend of Dr. Edalat. I know him too. Both these gentlemen are accomplished scholars, well known and respected in Iranian and international circles. Our American friends, especially yourself and Parker and Geri can help link us up with US based peace movements. Just imagine if we can work out a grand coalition for peace or the Network of Peace Networks, what a great ethical and humanitarian force, what a formidable pressure group.
