In St. Paul and Maplewood Public Schools


18 Ramsey County Master Gardeners spent over 180 hours educating 325 children and adults


Five Public Schools in St. Paul and Maplewood were involved


  • St. Paul is the second largest school district in Minnesota

  • Students speak more than 95 languages and dialects and come from countries throughout the world

  • Language spoken at home is other than English for 42% of the students

American Indian Magnet


Transplanting Seedlings


Planting in School Yards


Consultating on Home Rain Garden Locations


Soil Testing


Planting Residential Rain Gardens


Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District Projects

  • Gardens will:

    • help manage storm water run-off and/or beautify school yards

    • be used in future school education activities

    • serve as demonstrations to students, staff, neighborhood residents and visitors

    • provide valuable habitat
