  1. IBM Takes On The Evil Corporation Cameron Davis VS

  2. IBM Supports OpenOffice IBM and OpenOffice.org have teamed up to put out a new office suite called Lotus Symphony that will contain a word possessor, spreadsheets, and a slide presentation program. This software is available for free. IBM is calling it "enterprise-grade productivity software". The Lotus Symphony suit employs the Open Document Format (ODF). ODF is the ISO standard for universal document interchange. “With the Open Document Format, businesses can unlock their information.” - IBM software chief Steve Mills

  3. Lotus Symphony VS Office 2007 Lotus Symphony uses the ODF format that is easily portable between different programs. Office 2007 uses OOXML not very liked by the International Organization for Standardization. Being an open source program Lotus Symphony may have a few bugs that have been skipped over. Office 2007 is virtually bug free...

  4. Relative Background The OpenOffice.org project is a multiplatform open source office suite project (anyone can change the code to there benefit and post it for other people) that is free to download and share in order to build the community. I'm sure you all already know what Microsoft Office is...

  5. Why support the open source movement? A major supporter of the open source operating system Linux, Big Blue has hopped in with IBM to help the Lotus spread. These companies are not getting really any money from the software so why do it?

  6. A billion dollar corporation... Will this even effect it? MS Office has been the all around most used for a long time now. Getting People to shift even the smallest percent will be tough. What are the pros about using MS Office? MS Office is basically bug free. Also being the billion dollar corporation, if there is a bug it will soon be fixed.... (at least thats what they say)
