  1. Talk for Writing We have been using Talk for Writing to learn how to map it, action it, step it and say it just like you do at Forches! We learnt a text called Toby and the Great Fire of London. Our head teacher, Mrs Martin, thought we were brilliant! Toby was asleep after a long day’s work. He lived above his master’s shop in London.

  2. Talk for Writing “Oh no!” cried Toby. He must find Mr Pepys!

  3. We have had lots of birthdays in the last few months. Some children bring in cakes to share while others bring in something more savoury! Carol’s mum and dad have a Japanese restaurant so she brought in sushi! Abigail brought in princess cupcakes.

  4. We learnt about the tradition of Bonfire Night in the UK and the story of Guy Fawkes. Here is Leona, Lauren and JuHyun getting mucky whilst using paint to create fireworks!

  5. During Story Time with Mrs Martin, we learnt about sports day races in the UK so Mrs Robinson thought we should try some….

  6. In science we predicted what would happen to different objects when heated…

  7. To finish off we used some of the ingredients to make bread and chocolate crispy cakes.

  8. In PSHE we have been learning about Getting On and Falling Out. We understand that sometimes we feel angry but we have learnt some strategies to calm ourselves down. Do you like our angry faces?

  9. We did some collaborative learning with the Chameleon class next door. We were given some paper, sticky tape and scissors to build the tallest tower.

  10. We definitely need some more practice!

  11. Anton and Megan are busy making props for our Christmas Show.

  12. Our Christmas Show is called Children of the World. It is about a group of imaginary angels who bring children from countries around the world to offer their gifts to baby Jesus and explain their country’s Christmas traditions. The countries included Poland, Taiwan, England, the USA, Australia and Malawi. Some of us were children from Poland, angels, children from Malawi, kings or shepherds.
