Make a network list • Capture all the data about those people who can assist you in achieving your new career objective. • Develop the list starting with the people you already know, eventually to include the key decision-makers and hiring managers you will need to contact. • Incorporate your network list into your marketing strategy.

Research your target list • Your target list of organizations to contact should be based on your career objective, job and personal criteria, and thorough market research. • “Qualifying” your targets will reveal their priority needs and your potential fit • Always identify your hiring manager!
