  1. Secure alarming and remote access over https • The Aurora Web Service receives alarms from the Aurora Gateway over secure https and provides secure remote access to a network device. • The Aurora Gateway enables authorized users to connect to remote devices on a corporate network. These authorized users can connect from any computer by using an Internet connection. Aurora Gateway uses the HTTPS protocol to create a secure, encrypted connection fro the user to the device. • The advantages of an Aurora Gateway are as follows: • It enables remote access connections to a corporate network from the Internet without setting up a virtual private network (VPN) connection. • It enables connections to remote devices across firewalls.

AlarmTraq Gateway • Aurora Gateway is a Windows application installed on your customers corporate or private network and acts as the "Middleware" component to allow relaying of alarms to AlarmTraq as well as provides secure remote access to allowed devices on the network. • Alarms received by the Aurora Gateway be relayed via several methods: • SNMP trap • Secure Alarming over HTTPS • Dial-up modem (Avaya inadssnmpNotifications only) • Email (Avaya inadssnmpNotifications only)
