  2. Hypertext • is a text which contains links to other texts. The term was invented by Ted Nelson around 1965. • links can access numerous types of material. • The term "hypertext" is being replaced by "hyperlink," since text is not the only kind of link.

  3. Hypertext is a non-sequential form of composing and writing. • Hypertext most often refers to text on a computer that will lead the user to other, related information on demand. • It is a form of organizing text in computers that permits the linking of any place in text (or other media) to any other place and the rapid retrieval of information by following trails of these associative links. • Hypertext • is a text which contains links to other texts. The term was invented by Ted Nelson around 1965. • links can access numerous types of material, for example, educational material such as course syllabi and resources, explanatory notes for a Web-based document, sources for references, explanatory notes, commentaries by other writers, links to other relevant resources or publications, graphics, sound, video. • resources or publications, graphics, sound, video.

  4. Hypermedia • is not constrained to be text-based. It can include other media, e.g., graphics, images, and especially the continuous media - sound and video. Apparently, Ted Nelson was also the first to use this term. • Hypermedia is used as a logical extension of the term hypertext in which graphics, audio, video, plain text and hyperlinks intertwine to create a generally non-linear medium of information.

  5. The World Wide Web is a classic example of hypermedia. • Most modern hypermedia is delivered via electronic pages from a variety of systems including Media players, web browsers, and stand-alone applications. Audio hypermedia is emerging with voice command devices and voice browsing

  6. Interactive Multimedia • . The term "interactive multimedia" covers a lot of territory. "Interactive" means that this new tool offers multiple choices or scenarios, and as the program unfolds, the viewer chooses which sequences or subjects to explore. • Interactive multimedia is multimedia which gives the user some navigational controls.

  7. Allows two-way interaction with multimedia course material, another computer, or another user with direct response to the input, as opposed to one-way communication from TV, video, and other non-responsive media. • An interactive multimedia program is a computer program that reacts to the person using it-a conversation between you and the machine.
