Sustainable Resources BoardOverview • Chaired by Lord Jack Cunningham • Nine other Board members confirmed – two further private sector members are being sourced • Private sector contributions of £100,000 – received • ONE funding – provides a dedicated secretariat service • Provision of in-kind support

Sustainable Resources Board Meeting Dates • Board:- • 11th October 2010, plus AGM • 2011 – 10th January, 4th April, 4th July and 3rd October (plus AGM) • First Annual event – 10th March 2011 • Stakeholder Group:- • 16th November 1.30 – 4.30pm (at GO-NE) • Proposed dates for 2011 • 1st March, 7th June, 6th September and 15th November

  4. Sustainable Resources BoardResource Management Plan • Production of Plan – primary aim for the Board • To be produced in two stages: • Short, promotional document by autumn • RMP – approximately 32 pages & annexes

  5. Sustainable Resources BoardGIS Waste Mapping Tool • Arising from Regional Waste Mapping Study – commissioned by Renew and undertaken by Arup • Waste Mapping Report – information on waste arisings and available facilities • GIS Tool – interactive portal for regional data

Sustainable Resources BoardOther Developments • North East Commercial & Industrial Waste Survey – now commissioned • Five Task Groups established - provide specific technical information & advice to assist the Board. They are:- • Waste Flows and Data • Bio-waste • Plastics • Information and Communications • Construction and Demolition

  7. Sustainable Resources BoardOther Developments • Attendance at Defra’s Waste Policies review at BIS • Meeting with London Waste and Recycling Board’s Coordinator • Planning NESRB’s first annual conference • Marketing
