  4. Delegation timeline • April 2011 – recruitment of youth delegation • Training sessions throughout the year, about once a month. Great opportunity to work together face-to-face! • Meet together for the Conference of Youth for three days before climate conference • COP17 takes place 28 November – 18 December • January 2012 Post COP debrief and evaluation session

  5. Goal: Prevent climate change by reducing CO₂ emissions through a legally-binding deal. Purpose: Support the UNFCCC to produce a FAB deal; create the political will for Parties to commit to the process. Outputs: • Create a new generation of youth climate leaders • Communicate what’s happening to UK youth • Strengthen the international youth climate movement (IYCM)

Outcomes from 2010… UKCC quoted in the Sunday papers after COP, with coverage on TV, radio and internet Young people from around the world working together Opportunity to talk directly to UK government Youth input into the text of the Cancun Agreements with support for informal and peer-to-peer climate education UKYCC deliver intervention in plenary, allowing for UK youth to be heard at the highest level
